Phacoemulsification with a Punctured Posterior Capsule

    1-Minute Video

    Cataract/Anterior Segment, Complications

In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Arsham Sheybani performs phacoemulsification in a patient with posterior capsule puncture due to intravitreal injection. He avoids a true hydrodissection and instead performs a viscodissection of the anterior capsule and cortical layers. After carefully removing the cortex and epicapsular material, he creates a posterior capsulorhexis before placing the lens in the bag.
