Blame the Horse
By Lisa B. Arbisser, MD
Annual Meeting 2013
Cataract/Anterior Segment
In this segment of the Spotlight on Cataract Complications, Dr. Lisa Arbisser presents a complicated case of traumatic cataract and vitreous prolapse that requires a pars plana vitrectomy. During vitrectomy, the surgeon nicks the posterior capsule, and during subsequent phaco, the nucleus drops. Dr. Arbisser chooses to leave the patient temporarily aphakic for referral to a vitreoretinal colleague. The video symposium features 18 cataract experts who present their most challenging and unique surgical complications and the lessons they learned.
