Exploring Limits of Femtosecond-Assisted Cataract Surgery

    AAO 2015
    Cataract/Anterior Segment

Femtosecond laser–assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) provides real-time intraoperative imaging and the unique ability to customize various parameters for intraoperative landmark identification and laser delivery. The authors demonstrate challenging cases such as small pupils, subluxated traumatic cataracts, corneal scars with iridocorneal adhesions, phacomorphic glaucoma with a shallow anterior chamber, the creation of a secondary capsulotomy in an aphakic eye with capsular remnants, capsular phimosis, and a traumatic cataract with a pre-existing posterior capsular tear.
