Minimally Invasive External Ex-PRESS Shunt Implantation Without Conjunctival Dissection

The Ex-PRESS mini glaucoma shunt has added safety to the surgical treatment of glaucoma. Current implantation techniques use a traditional scleral flap, conjunctival peritomy, and multiple sutures for flap and conjunctival closure. The author presents a new minimally invasive technique incorporating shunt implantation through a scleral tunnel that eliminates conjunctival dissection.
