    Ophthalmology Behind the Iron Curtain: Cataract Surgery in North Korea

    This video gives a first report on charity cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries in North Korea, where a poor economy, healthcare, and infrastructure have led to problems and improvisations. Once adapted to these special surroundings, however, teaching and clinical work can be very effective and satisfying for both doctor and patient. Ophthalmic surgery in developing countries can be challenging, but it is worth doing.
