    Cataract Spotlight/AAO 2022
Cataract/Anterior Segment, Complications, Enhancement, IOLs and Implantation, New Technology and Instruments

In this presentation, Dr. Bob Osher discusses the challenges he encountered in providing an intraocular lens (IOL) for a 22-year-old patient. The young woman had high axial myopia and a posterior polar cataract and wanted to be able to see distance and near. An expert panel and the audience consider which IOL to use and how to handle a posterior capsular tear. In addition, as the case progresses, Dr. Osher details an error he made and how it affected the patient.
