    Shortcomings: How to Fix and Prevent a Short Tube

    Glaucoma drainage device (GDD) implantation is one of the most commonly performed ophthalmological surgeries in the world. A number of difficulties can be faced during the implantation or the revision of a GDD, especially in surgeons with limited experience. This video focuses on fixing and preventing a problem than can be faced during surgery: short tubes. It shows a case in which the surgeon extends a tube using an angiocatheter. After detailed description of the technique, several examples and surgical pearls of how to measure, insert, and cut the GDD tube to acquire an adequate length and direction are shown.
