This video shows the unsuspected presentation of a residual piece of a silicone encircling band preop subretinally during a pars plana vitrectomy. A 40-year-old patient presented with a retinal detachment and a peripheral fixed retinal fold 2 months after removal of an extruding encircling band. His past history included a penetrating ocular trauma with an intraocular foreign body 8 years before. We show how we realized what it was about and how we managed it. Finally, we hypothesize the likely cause.
