Secondary IOL Implantation Using Flanged Haptic Double-Needle Technique

This patient had blunt trauma to the right eye resulting in a dislocated crystalline lens. A pars plana vitrectomy was performed 2 months prior and the eye left aphakic. Dr. Jones places a posterior chamber IOL with intrascleral haptic fixation using the double-needle flanged haptic technique first described by Dr. Shin Yamane. No vitreous management was required because of the earlier surgery. Postoperatively, the patient achieved a stable lens with excellent recovery of vision.
