    Tips to Reduce Aerosol Generation in MSICS

    Due to COVID-19, a lot of fear exists among ophthalmologists about aerosol generating procedures. There are a few articles and videos demonstrating the aerosol generating potential in a phacoemulsification cataract surgery. However, Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (MSICS) is still one of the most common cataract surgeries being done in the developing world. Though the risk of transmission by aerosol during MSICS is uncertain, it is better to be safe than sorry. The purpose of this video is to evaluate the steps in MSICS which have the potential of generating aerosols and methods to reduce the same.
