Orbital Imaging 2016
Oculoplastics Subspecialty Day 2016
Oculoplastics/Orbit
The vast majority of orbital imaging relies on 2 readily available techniques: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). Both modalities provide excellent resolution of the orbit/skull base and allow for vascular imaging when needed. As with all technology, however, each has its advantages and disadvantages. This update concentrates on 2 specific imaging techniques: diffusion-weighted imaging in MRI and positron emission tomography (PET).
