Panuveitis
Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada Syndrome
Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome is a chronic, progressive bilateral panuveitis that is associated with exudative retinal detachments and may be accompanied by meningeal irritation, auditory disturbances, and skin changes. It is rare in children, but in those affected, the rate of ocular complications such as cataract and glaucoma is higher and the visual prognosis poorer compared with that for adults. For further discussion, see BCSC Section 9, Uveitis and Ocular Inflammation.
