Dr. Lee graduated from the University of Virginia's School of Medicine in 1989. After completing his ophthalmology residency, he became chief resident at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 1993. Following this, Dr. Lee completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute and received a post-doctoral Fight for Sight fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, from 1993-1994.
Dr. Lee was formerly an associate professor at Baylor College of Medicine and an adjunct associate professor at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston from 1994-2000. He is currently a professor of Ophthalmology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
