  • Dr. Bhorade is an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and specializes in glaucoma. She completed both her medical school and Ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She attended Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for her clinical Glaucoma fellowship and is currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Investigation at Washington University. Dr. Bhorade was recently awarded a career development award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for her pilot study which aims to evaluate how glaucoma affects visual function and quality of life in older adults. She is also an investigator for the multicenter Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS), and is currently analyzing data from this clinical trial to assess the predictive accuracy of the monocular trial. Dr. Bhorade participates in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and lectures on glaucoma both locally and nationally.
