  • After completing residency training at Wills Eye Hospital and an oculoplastics fellowship at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, Dr. Bernardino joined the staff of Emory University's School of Medicine as an assistant professor of Ophthalmology. As a member of the oculoplastics service there, Dr. Bernardino treats eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital disease in both children and adults. His clinical interests include thyroid related eye disease, orbital tumors, and the anophthalmic socket. Meanwhile, his research interests include the use of hydrogel orbital expanders in congenital and acquired anophthalmic sockets, the use of magnetic attractor screws to replace the titanium motility peg in enucleation, and the development of an orbital tumor animal model.
