  • David B. Granet, MD FACS FAAP FAAO is the Anne Ratner Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego.  He is Director of the Abraham Ratner Children's Eye Center and the adult ocular motility specialist for the Shiley Eye Center. He is the founder and moderator of the International Pediatric-Ophthalmology Internet discussion group.  Dr. Granet's work has earned him the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Honor Award for the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.  He also serves on the executive committee for the section of Ophthalmology for the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been named yearly in both "Best Doctors in America" and "America's Top Doctors". His research interests include the effects of thyroid disease on ocular motility, adult strabismus as well as learning disorders related to vision. Additionally, Dr. Granet is the host of "Health Matters", a television show for which he has received both the prestigious international Gold Aurora Award and a Bronze Telly Award.
