Dr. Prata is a professor of Ophthalmology in the glaucoma service at the Department of Ophthalmology, Federal University of São Paulo, as well as at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro, Brazil. His research interests include early glaucoma detection and glaucoma surgery involving mainly implants. He completed a two-year glaucoma research fellowship at the Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California. Dr. Prata is a member of the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology, the Brazilian Glaucoma Society, and the Latin America Glaucoma Society. He is the current president of the Ophthalmologic Society of Triângulo Mineiro, Brazil.
