Dr. Akaishi is the director of Hospital Oftalmológico de Brasília (HOB) in Brazil. He completed his residency and fellowship in cataract and anterior segment at the Instituto de Oftalmología Tadeu Cvintal in São Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Akaishi is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the Brazilian Society of Cataract (BSC).
