Nd:YAG Laser for Cutting Vitreous Strand

    By Roger F. Steinert, MD
    Laser Surgery Education Center
    Cataract/Anterior Segment

Dr. Steinert demonstrates lysis of a vitreous strand going through the edge of the pupil causing a notch and then out to the incision. The pupil could not be constricted, making cutting the translucent strand a challenge. He uses a peripheral iridotomy lens to get better magnification and to help focus the Nd:YAG laser.
