In this video, Dr. Veena Kannusamy and colleagues describe how doctors at the Aravind Eye Hospital in India are trained to perform manual small-incision cataract surgery (MSCIS). Training tools include a specialized manual, animated videos, and practice in a wet lab simulation environment. Following a discussion of the tools used in the wet lab, the steps of an MSCIS procedure are then shown.
