This image displays palisades of Vogt, which are found in the corneoscleral limbus. They are more clearly visible in younger people and those with higher levels of pigmentation. The structure of the palisades is different for each individual, as are fingerprints. Slender, scarcely discernible arteriolar and venous elements arranged in hairpin loops with a radial orientation characterize the unique vascular structure of the Vogt palisades. They are more evident and regular at the lower limbus, as compared to the upper limbus.
