The upper portion of the tarsal plate failed to be tucked over the eyelid margin tarsus fragment. In standard PLTR, a pocket is created between the orbicularis and the tarsus. Tucking the edge of the proximal tarsal segment into this pocket provides a wedge of tissue that stabilizes the rotated lid margin.
