    In this interview from ASCRS 2021, Dr. Bryan Lee shares pearls for performing IOL exchange in patients who are unsatisfied with multifocal IOLs. Approaches to removing the IOL out of the bag varies based on the lens material, he explained. Whereas it is easier to lift the capsule edge with Johnson and Johnson materials, Alcon material can be stickier and harder to open. When trying to remove a stubborn haptic out of the bag, Dr. Lee has a low threshold for amputating the haptic—unless he is trying to replace it with a toric monofocal in the same orientation.
