  • Alcon upgrades Infinity platform

    Alcon has upgraded the hardware and software for its Infiniti Vision System to provide more control during cataract surgery. The upgrades include the addition of the Intrepid AutoSert IOL Injector, which enables automated delivery of the IOL.

    Other upgrades include:

    • Customizable parameters for enhanced IOL insertion control;
    • Foot pedal control to allow better globe stabilization;
    • Single-hand auto insertion for smoother insertions; and
    • Support for all standard incision sizes, especially micro-incision cataract surgery.

    The upgrades will be available worldwide in the first half of 2013.
