The management of glaucoma requires a series of decisions, starting with whether glaucoma is present and continuing over time. A patient may be suspected of having glaucoma for several reasons, such as elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), suspicious appearance of the optic disc, an abnormal visual field finding, an abnormal angle appearance, or a combination of these factors.
