Achieving Perfection in IOL Power Calculations

In this interview from AAO 2017, Dr. John Ladas discusses a methodology that integrates machine-learned artificial intelligence (AI)-based adjustments into an existing IOL formula. The algorithm uses the original Ladas Super Formula as its platform, which is internally adjusted using outcome data. Remarkably, the formula can be individually adjusted for surgeons using their own outcome data, or physicians can choose to use the formula that was fine-tuned using data from a large cohort.
