Post-Refractive Cataract Surgery: Meeting Higher Expectations

By T. Hunter Newsom, MD; Mitchell A. Jackson, MD
    Annual Meeting 2013
    Cataract/Anterior Segment, Refractive Mgmt/Intervention

In this interview, Drs. T. Hunter Newsom and Mitchell Jackson discuss surgical and corrective options for the cataract patient with previous refractive surgery. While these patients tend to have high expectations given their previous refractive outcomes, intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation and lens selection can be challenging depending on the corneal changes caused by prior surgery. Dr. Jackson shares his various preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative measures for cataract patients with previous LASIK, PRK or RK.
