Strategies for Combined Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery

In this interview, Drs. Lisa B. Arbisser and Douglas Rhee discuss in which patients it’s appropriate to combine cataract surgery with glaucoma filtration surgery, and strategies for maximizing outcomes. They review new, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery options that can be combined with cataract surgery, such as the iStent, endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation and trabectome. They also offer their views on preoperative evaluation and postoperative monitoring in these patients.
