    Retina/Vitreous

Dr. Chirag Jhaveri demonstrates use of an endolaser probe to drain subretinal fluid, mitigating the risk of subretinal hemorrhage during scleral buckling for retinal detachment. After cutting through the sclera, he uses a short burst of laser to coagulate the choroidal bed. The laser power should be titrated so that the clinician can visualize contracture and coagulation of the choroid. Once bubbles appear, the needle can be safely used for a full thickness drainage sclerotomy.
