He recommends suturing the corneal wound to stabilize the globe and careful placement of the trocars when using a frag. Make sure to complete vitrectomy and induce posterior vitreous detachment before removing the material. Irrigating the anterior chamber and scleral depression, especially inferiorly, can help remove small retained lens material pieces.
