In this video, Dr. Jonathan Prenner uses GoreTex sutures to secure an IOL in the sulcus following removal of a dislocated crystalline lens due to blunt trauma. After performing a 25-gauge vitrectomy, he uses 8-0 GoreTex sutures to create a cow hitch knot which he then ties to the haptic of a CZ70 IOL. Repeated on the second haptic, he creates a de facto 4-point fixation for more stable IOL placement in the sulcus.
