    ILM Peeling in PVR

    By Gaurav Shah, MD

In this presentation from the Retinaws symposium at the 2011 Annual Meeting, Dr. Gaurav Shah shares a case of chronic retinal detachment with severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Dr. Shah begins the case by peeling the internal limiting membrane (ILM), and then applies triamconolone to provide a visible edge for where the PVR and fibrous membranes lie on the retina. After stripping all tissues, the detachment is repaired with diathermy, air-fluid exchange, and endolaser photocoagulation.
