In this video presented during the Retinaws symposium at the 2011 Annual Meeting, Dr. Gaurav Shah demonstrates the removal of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) in a case of retinal detachment. In his clinical experience, Dr. Shah believes that peeling ILM can significantly reduce the risk of epiretinal membrane (ERM) formation. Following his video, the panel debates the practical value and relative challenge of ILM peeling in cases of a detached and mobile retina.
