Internal limiting membrane (ILM) hemorrhages funduscopically appear as sharply demarcated, dome-shaped hemorrhages at the posterior pole. The ocular findings are diversified, but hemorrhages, maculopathy and uveitis are commonly discussed. Dengue fever can present with dense or sub-ILM hemorrhages. Our patient was able to report promptly with all the medical records of his recent illness, rendering a more straightforward diagnosis. A good clinical history-taking with specific questions or knowledge of dengue fever in the region may be of utmost importance to link the current ocular conditions to dengue fever. In our case, the vision quickly recovered after vitrectomy and ILM peeling. Visual acuity significantly improved, from counting fingers close to face (CFCF) to 6/12 Snellen.
