A Tale of Kissing Choroid: Managing the Suprachoroidal Hemorrhage

    AAO 2023 Video Program
    Diagnostic & Imaging , Retina/Vitreous

Spontaneous expulsive choroidal hemorrhage is a serious ocular condition where expulsion of the intraocular contents occurs through the anterior eye wall. Causes include local ocular conditions that predispose to an expulsive hemorrhage, such as glaucoma, increased IOP, low scleral rigidity and high myopia. We present here a case of 77-year-old male who was diagnosed with suprachoroidal hemorrhage with subluxated IOL in the left eye. B-scan showed suprachoroidal hemorrhage and complete bullous-kissing choroidal detachment with shallow retinal detachment at the posterior pole.
