  • Alastair Carruthers, MD, is a cosmetic dermatologic surgeon who operates his own clinical practice, Carruthers Dermatology Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He is also a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of British Columbia.

    Dr. Carruthers and his wife, Dr. Jean Carruthers, have been at the forefront of Botox research, development and education, publishing numerous articles using their data. He has over 100 published articles to his credit and has authored numerous text books. He is an Assistant Editor of Dermatologic Surgery and a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. He is a member of several national and international associations including the American Dermatology Association, the Canadian Dermatology Association (President from 1998-1999) and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (President 2006-2007).

    Dr. Carruthers received his medical baccalaureate from Brasenose College, Oxford in 1969, and completed a fellowship in dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1983.
