  • Dr. Fredrick is an associate clinical professor, residency program director, and the director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco Department of Ophthalmology. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed his residency at St. Mary’s Hospital, San Francisco, and a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Boston Children’s Hospital.

    Dr. Fredrick has traveled to Burma, Vietnam, and Trinidad to teach local physicians the latest surgical techniques. He is currently working with the organization ORBIS to develop a nationwide plan in Vietnam to prevent retinopathy of prematurity. This involves collaboration with Dr. Colin Partridge, a neonatologist at UCSF, and intensive training for four physicians from Vietnam who will spend two months at the university. Dr. Fredrick is a member of the Board of Prevent Blindness Northern California and the Blind Babies Foundation.
