Dr. Kaufman is currently professor and Lyon-endowed chair of ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans. He was the director of cornea and refractive surgery at the Henry Ford Health System while also an associate professor of ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is a previous Heed fellow and recipient of a National Eye Institute Physician Scientist Award.
