  • Dr. Basti is an associate professor in the department of ophthalmology of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore University, in India, completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University Medical School, and did a fellowship in cornea, refractive, and cataract surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine.

    Dr. Basti has published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and several book chapters, and he is a reviewer for Ophthalmology and Cornea, among other journals. In 2007, he was named to the list of "Best Doctors in America."

    Dr. Basti has taught instruction courses at several annual meetings of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. On behalf of Orbis International, he has taught phacoemulsification techniques to staff ophthalmologists at Shantou Central Hospital in China.
