  • Dr. Wirostko is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he also serves as assistant professor in the section of vitreoretinal surgery. He is head of retinal service at the Zablocki Veterans Administrative Hospital, one of four Milwaukee area hospitals where he has privileges.

    Dr. Wirostko received his medical degree in 1994 from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed fellowships and advanced training in vitreoretinal surgery and ocular oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Cornell University, and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

    Dr. Wirostko has published dozens of journal articles and book chapters, and he serves on the editorial review boards of several journals including Retina, Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, and Ophthalmology. He has received many grants and awards for his work and is active as a lecturer and presenter.
