Certification ensures Medflow's electronic health record (EHR) software is compliant with criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and that users will qualify for stage 1 and 2 meaningful use.

The Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program cleared Medflow's Electronic Health Records v8.1.

"We believe we are the first eye care specific EHR to become certified," said D. James Riggi, Medflow president and CEO.

Drummond Group's ONC-ACB program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus funds upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology.
