Glaucoma and Repetitive Strain Injury of the Eye

Dr. Arthur Sit gave the Clinician Scientist Lecture at the American Glaucoma Society 2024 annual meeting entitled "Glaucoma: Repetitive Strain Injury of the Eye." In this interview with Dr. Arsham Sheybani, Dr. Sit talks about how IOP variability may be causing repetitive damage to the optic nerve that is potentially more influential than mean overall IOP. In addition, he touches on multiple factors that can influence changes in IOP, from alterations in head position to pressure variability between day and night, as well as the impact of procedures like scleral buckle on IOP and glaucoma.
