    Inferior Rectus Wright Mini Tenotomy

    By Kenneth W. Wright, MD
    Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus

In this short video, Dr. Ken Wright performs a mini tenotomy to weaken the inferior rectus muscle of a patient with 2 prism diopters of right hypertropia. Dr. Wright grasps the insertion of the inferior rectus and uses Wescott scissors to snip directly through conjunctiva and the central tendon approximately 3 mm from the insertion. This quick procedure is performed under topical anesthesia and is virtually pain-free for the patient.
