    Retina/Vitreous

Hypertrophy of retinal pigment epithelium. (A) Red-free photograph shows solitary black lesion surrounded by lighter, mottled border. This patient also has nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy. (B) Arteriovenous phase. Blockage of fluorescence by hyperpigmentation of lesion. There is no leakage of dye. (C) Recirculation phase. There is neither leakage of dye into lesion nor staining of lesion. Some leakage resulting from diabetic retinopathy can be seen, but is unrelated to retinal pigment epithelial hypertrophy.
