    Scharioth technique. a. Two sclerotomies made close to the limbus, exactly 180° apart and centered on the pupil. b. An intrascleral tunnel is created, extending from the sclerotomy parallel to the limbus. c. Both haptics of a foldable, 3-piece intraocular lens exteriorized through the sclerotomies. d. The externalized haptic is grasped by an end-gripping microforceps. e. The haptic is fed into the intrascleral Scharioth tunnel. f. The anterior chamber maintainer is removed.
