In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Kathryn Colby describes how the management of endothelial dysfunction has changed in the last 2 decades. Several selective endothelial transplants, such as DSAEK and DMEK, have become part of normal practice, she explained. One notable advancement is the Descemet stripping only procedure for Fuchs’ dystrophy. Anecdotal evidence suggests that a topical Rho kinase inhibitor may improve the success rate and final endothelial cell count; a clinical trial is currently underway to test this.
