Medial Canthal Defects

He recommends surgeons be careful of the glabellar or rhomboid flaps in this area because they can leave a thumbprint type of scar. If the defect involves the eyelids, repair each anatomic unit independently. Finally, because the area is prone to scarring, using intralesional kenalog or 5-FU injections early can be beneficial.
