In this video presentation from the 2013 Refractive Subspecialty Day, Steve Arshinoff asks whether femtos are really better than an excellent surgeon or simply present different complication risks. The price/performance ratio of femtos hardly seems worth the gain, and unlike phaco, may severely limit the potential market. Some day we will all use femtosecond lasers, but they need to be adapted to our surgical needs better than they have been so far.
