In this clinical video, Dr. Steven Cohen performs an intraocular lens exchange with removal of subluxed crystalens and scleral fixation of an Akreos AO60 posterior chamber IOL. He makes the incision close to the limbus to minimize astigmatism and checks for retinal tears. He uses a 4-plank fixation technique and employs a suture retriever designed by Dr. Jeffrey Benner to pass the scleral fixation sutures. This technique is useful for inserting a posterior chamber lens into eyes that lack capsular support.
