Researchers retrospectively reviewed records for 28 patients (35 eyes) with keratoconus implanted with a Ferrara intrastromal corneal ring segment. After five years, mean UDVA improved significantly from 0.15 preoperatively to 0.31 and mean CDVA improved significantly from 0.41 to 0.62. Mean minimum and maximum K values each significantly decreased. Corneal topography significantly flattened postoperatively and remained stable during follow-up.
